SQAC Report 2016-17

 The new cabinet was installed and president was Sara Mirza and GargiDebnath was elected as the vice-president.

  • The Mayor, Commissioner and members of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation paid a visit to the college as a part of their awareness program regarding the diseases spread by mosquitoes. The program mainly focused on the diseases dengue and malaria.
  • An ‘ANTI-RAGGING PROGRAMME’ was held on 20th June, 2016. A skit was performed by SQAC members that were based on the importance of having good friends and it also spread the message that ragging is strictly prohibited in the college.
  • The international yoga day is celebrated on 21st of June. This day was celebrated with grand appreciation for the college yoga team as they have won the Osmania intercollegiate yoga championship.
  • SQAC teams and the Cultural Committee organized an outstanding Fresher’s Party on 16th July 2016 for the first year students. The theme of the party was ‘BajiraoMastani’
  • The event had the ‘Miss Freshers’ competition The judges invited for the competition were Ms. Sakina Fatima, Social Activist and Nida un Naser, owner of Eleventh Urbane and an alumni of St Ann’s College.
  • The Teacher’s Day was celebrated on 10 September. It was a retro-themed event. A game of Musical Aptitude was played. The nightingale of the college Namrata performed a melody of many old songs. The magnificent celebrations came to an end with a vote of thanks by the seniors.
  • To commemorate the independence day the principal hoisted the  flag and  all the staff, lecturers and students sang the  National Anthem and expressed the joy of our  freedom.
  • P.V. Sindhu , the rising star of the nation and of the college was getting ready for Rio Olympics 2016, to be held in Brazil. She will be representing our country for Women’s badminton singles. Our college gave her best wishes to blooming bird. Students performed “flash mob” in which Ms. Sindu too participated.
  • SQAC team took charge of various events at The Anofesta celebrations on 21 and 22 of December, 2016. Various departments of our institution held many exciting competitions such as quizzes, captioning contests, poster presentations and cultural competitions.

  • The new team had ZainabSaleem Khan, from B.A Final year As President alongside Maria Mohammed Muzaffar, from B .Sc Final year was Elected As Vice President.
  • An anti-ragging awareness programwas held at our college performed by the seniors along with poetry and a speech.
  • SQAC co-ordinated for the panel discussion on gender profession by women centre and they also coordinated for girl child slavery at women centre.
  • The fresher’s party was held on 8th August 2015. There were outstanding dance and singing performances by students in solos, duets and groups. The pageant of Miss Fresher’s was also held.
  • The Independence Day was celebrated and patriotic dances and songs were performed.
  • Teacher's Day is celebrated to show our acknowledgement and recognition of the hard work put in by our teachers towards our development. All the teachers were invited for a grand programme organised by students of SQAC. The programme included dance, skit and song performed by the students.
  • As a part of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, the mega cleanliness drive in India we at St. Ann’s College carried out the campaign in the college on the 28th of January 2016. Principal Dr. (Sr.) P. Amrutha , addressed all the students to carry out the cleanliness mission which was followed by the administering the  Swachhta pledge.
  • A Farewell Party was organised for the out-going students by the juniors. The program included few entertaining competitions.

 The president was Syeda RabiaMariyam and the vice-president was NirthyaNatraj.

  • It has been a tradition of our college to do an Anti- Ragging Skit in the morning assembly on the very first day of college for the first year students. The SQAC members patrol the college campus in order to stop and report any kind of ill behaviour for the first month regularly and do random checks two to three times per week for the rest of the year.
  • “She Team” Awareness programme - an initiative by the Hyderabad Police for the protection of women in the Twin Cities. There was also a visit by the SHE team, Hyderabad, on 25 November, 2014 in St. Joseph's Auditorium to educate the girls about their safety. The A.C.P. of Hyderabad, Mrs. DARA KAVITHA  came to our college together with her team and enlightened the girls with few tricks to safety. She also discussed about the various initiatives taken by the team and the help being provided to them by the police.She assured the girls that the police and the team will be there for help as and when required.
  • National Unity Day (Rashtriya EktaDiwas) Celebration of Birth Anniversary of SardarVallabhbhai Patel on Friday, 31st October, 2014. National Unity Pledge (Rashtriya EktaDiwasShapath) by the Principal, Vice-Principal, Deans, Heads, Faculty, Administrative staff, & students. This was followed by a Run for Unity through the neighbourhood to create awareness among the people.
  • A rally “Run for Unity” was flagged off with the motto “Ek Bharat: Shresth Bharat” . The members of SQAC of St. Ann’s organized a run with many students taking an active part.
  • A panel discussion on “SardarVallabhbhai Patel’s vision on Nation Building.” took place in the A. V. Room. Participants included Prof Rama.S. Melkote, Prof. V. Rajagopal, & P. Venkatramana.  It was followed by an interactive session with the students.
  • A Guest Lecture was organised by St. Ann’s College for women for the students on 20th November 2014. The Guest Speaker for the Lecture is an amazing Psychologist, Advocate, Corporate Training NLP Practitioner & Motivational Speaker, Dr. P. Jawaharlal Nehru.
  • Ann’s Campaign as part of Swachh Bharath Mission starting on 12th November 2014. As a part of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, we the Ann’s family carried out together this campaign in the college.Principal Sr. Amrutha, addressed all the students to carry out the cleanliness mission which was followed by speech given by SQAC President Syeda RabiaMariyam who sensitized the students and made them aware of different aspects of hygiene. Through this campaign, the students played their role as cleanup ambassadors in the college as well as the surrounding areas and also displayed an encouraging way for the locals to keep their surroundings clean.
  • “Shikshit Bharat, Saksham Bharat – Quality Education for All” group discussion with students on Monday 17th November 2014. As per the initiative program of the government to bring uppositive changes in the present education policy, our college underthe guidance of Dean, Mrs Lata HOD of psychology department conducted a workshop. The workshop was attended by all the SQAC members.
